Sounds simple enough, right? But, how do we build that trust? Earning trust in a relationship of any form can take time.

To jumpstart that process, start off by practicing active listening. “Active listening is the ability to focus completely on a speaker, understand their message, comprehend the information and respond thoughtfully. Unlike passive listening, which is the act of hearing a speaker without retaining their message, this highly valued interpersonal communication skill ensures you’re able to engage and later recall specific details without needing information repeated” (Indeed).

In short, sometimes we get so focused or excited about what we have to say, that we forget to listen to our clients and make sure that it's even relevant to what they need. Need help? Here are a few tips to help practice active listening.
